Civic Center FAQ’s & Information

• To secure a date with the Commerce Civic Center, there is a 50% NON- refundable deposit. This deposit will go towards the balance. If the date needs to be moved, change must be requested at least 30 days prior to event.
• A separate security deposit of $1,500 is required and will be refunded within 7-10 business days after the event.
• Event balance must be paid in full no later than 10 days prior to the event.
• Vendors are required to provide proof of insurance.
• Lessee will need to provide event insurance with Commerce Civic Center being the beneficiary. Proof of insurance must be submitted 30 days prior to the event.
• Only beer and wine may be served by a LICENSED bartender. Bartender must be able to show copy of current license.
• When alcohol is present at an event, security must be provided by an off-duty City of Commerce police officer. A minimum of four hours at $250.00 then each additional officer per hour is $50.
• You must apply for a Special Event Permit at City Hall 30 days prior to your event. The fee is $75 and is subject to change.
• Sound equipment and lighting equipment will need to be provided by Lessee.
• Linen, tables and chairs are provided for up to 200 guests. Linens will be provided at an additional charge of $50 per set which includes (tables, eight chairs and one linen)
• The Civic Center does not allow confetti, bird seed, rice, glitter, hay, fog machine, sparklers, boa-feathers or real candles.
